You could source used TAD tweeters for ~$1K pair .They sound exceptionally smooth and extended .More so than infamous T-350 and with better "tone" which may be relevant since your 288 are tonaly "dead" according to the Cat. Who knows, he may be right...

I'm going to try and build a Melquiades type amplifier (with some help from friends) following the advice given above  to make it as simple as possible.  I could spend more money for "different" transformer, but I will ask you for advice on...

HI Romy, thanks for the thoughtful reply.  The electricity comment is interesting as today I put on some jazz music and the HF is very snappy, excellent! I feel like posting on AA to ask people's opinons if it's the electricity or if my concrete...

Very nice mounting. Hopefully the ridgidity will not cause any other unwanted vibrations from moving the assembly ever so slightly. I doubt it could be heard if so. Having used the T-350 (and t-35) over quite a long period from the mid 70's through t...

[quote user="RonyWeissman"] It will drive  either my Tannoy Gold's full-range, or my 3-way system (Altec 515/Vitavox S2/EV T-350 or JBL 2450).  I could also use it just to drive the Altec 515 and use my current 300B to drive the MF/HF of my...

I recently spoke with Paul Eizik regarding the criticality of the open-air mounting of that driver instead of baffle-mounting. I decided to go extreme and to get rid of that plate that I had under the driver no mater now small it was, also I thought ...
