I made an effort to integrate the Rebel++ in my main listening system. I changed the room and created good corners for corner-loaded horns, and they were time-aligned in my listening position. The result is not good. However, when I am listening to the Rebel++ they are very nice, and the whole presentation is very good come along at a distance of 15-20 feet and they sound VERY nice in that listening location. A completely not useable in the context of Macondo. The Macondo listening spot a feet before the middle of the carpet.

Very very added addictive this astonishingly low efforts
I play for the last 3 days my Rebel++ in different configuration and to my huge surprise they actually might perform better that I expected in new position and listening exam from 12 ft. They certainly need a larger room to breathe and to develop full body sound. I kind of settled this idea that I will not be able to integrate them with Macondo but I also feel that I can convert them to astonishingly good loudspeaker. It is not the time needed but I like to teach speaker how to sound good and the Rebel ++ really threw potentials and a wonderful playgrounds to start from. In the larger room I feel I would need to high pass the subwoofer somewhere. I also need to make the S2 drivers to sound less like S2. I know how I need to play with it little bit. It is kind of insulting that so little money I will be able to come up with acoustic system which significantly overperforms the garbage they sell for 100s thousands. It is not truly monetary ego. It gives me actually a pleasure to discover what possible to dig out from this topology. I always did not take serious the corner loaded horns as I failed that they are lying on the wall and never have any debth. That depth that my corner horns do in this location is kind of stunning. It is certainly different presentation but it is very addictive.

In the end, the Rebel++ turned out to be a completely different project and it so far delivered more results than I ever expected. I am disbelieving about what I am observing here. The quality of the sound that so much impressed me in the end did not come from the Rebel++ topology, the Klipsch design, from the good vintage driver, or the magic of Vitavox S2. It turned out that it all came from that shitty table radio that I used to drive the Rebel++. I do a lot of experiments down here and I have discovered something truly interesting. From the direction that I absolutely did not expect.

I hope everyone who follows along looking for tips is watching closely because this thread as it has evolved is a terrific exposition of the "applied theory" of high-end audio practices. The subject here is not only old quasi-complimentary SS amps but it shows how evolved listening skills and derived techniques can guide the paractitioner to Good Sound like a heat seeking missile. Even if one misses out on this particular amp, "the gear is out there". One needs to stay detatched from the fog of hype that enshrouds it and listen for what is important to ones self. When The Listener is ready, the System will appear.

It is getting better and better.
I really like to work with the speaker as it responds very kindly. The next is to make S2 driver to work the way how it works in Macondo- with high frequency low pass. It will take probably around .1 to .03 if to slightly top off the S2 driver. And of course to complimented this insightly beautiful twitter from Red driver. After I did very same in Macondo I do see a better combination. Trying to figure out how to do it time alignment with exact positioning. So far a threaded rod dose fine but I need to come up with a better frame solution.

Nested Tweeter
No doubt you will find better looking support for your (super) tweeter, starting with less material. I see and appreciate that you have resisted any urges to remove the woofer cone, dust cover, etc. from around the tweeter. During my own manic experiments some years back I came to the conclusion that a "nested" tweeter "sounded better" than the same tweeter in free air. I never did figure out why. I also thought the largest cone (I am talking paper drivers) that could "do" the desired frequencies "sounded best". Of course, I took another direction in order to up the power potential. Of course I still have dozens of paper tweeters...

How are you liking the cellular horn, as opposed to your big, heavy turned horns? I remember preferring the Altec "500Hz" horn at 800Hz, but I did not like the 515s at 800Hz, and my wife hated the A7s, no peace until I sold them.

I do not know what nested Twitter is
I do not have any big prejudices and do not invest too much into specific type of horn. In my view at home form a very unique combination between compression driver and Horn, making compression driver to sound the best. I have two original  different Vitavox horns. I do not make claim that a larger multisell is better I just would like to drive that compression driver slightly lower in my configuration and I need just a larger horn. I do not like Altec 7 design. I think some of Altec 7 I had large 2" Altec drivers  and those drivers in my view are very usable. I heard a few months ago those large Altec drivers with custom strictly paper cones loaded into large horn similar to mine and they were sensationally good,

Compression driver sits in the "nest" of the paper woofer cone.
I think A5 had 2" CD... Plenty of variations, a few historians have kept track; I did not...

My Rebel++ is officially three channels

Okay I eventually connected my tested Tannoy red readers to my Rebel. So far so good, that sound but the connections... Now I need to work on integration and crossover. This time I'm willing to do it completely different. I have no control over my Twitter harmonics as I am not driving it by set amplifier and I cannot play with loading. Also, I need to figure out how whatevet  I know about crossovers would be applicable to ampX topology. I know how to crossovers act in terms of sounds but I have no experience how transparent crossovers for X Factor 

  

This would be very interesting research. Most likely it will be first order, I might get better sound but it my diminished whatever I call X Factor.
