thee srp in Zarathustra is cathode bias, melq is grid bias. If gas biased the srpp it would no longer be the circuit in zarathustra. what would this do to sound i have no idea. The function of the gas tubes in melq are not only for providing bias. ...

couldnt get "insert iamge from gallary" to work so i attached it. Had it working for a couple weeks. Single stage 6e5p testbed. The B+ rcore and output transformer is underneath. In the end r23 of 30k worked with 30h choke. no choke on gas tubes...

Some few 6e5p have black dull getter not shiney chrome getter. never been used and they still test normal. do they sound any different? ...

I do not think that 6e5p driver stage withh ss could be useful for proper playback. or would it somehow be melq.

people cant handle that it must have no cathode resistor. That r2 must be 15k. that gas tubes must be used but not for regulating voltage. etc.etc. well if you want good sound anyways. I think many people probably have built it. It is so ridiculous...

5) You might consider do not make a dedicated PS for positive bias but to take it via a resistor right from C2 capacitor. I did it and I did not see any worsening in sound.
