Thanks again, Romy.  The bias pots, mechanically, are just as you observe.

I supposed that the extra current draw during burn-in was normal for the ML2s but I had not noticed it before, since I typically do not bother to check or try to set bias until an amp's innards are warmed up and +/- stabilized.  At the same time, the uniqueness of the situation and the vague action of the pots combined to give me some pause; hence the post.

I guess good Followers, who do as they are Told and Buy Everything from Lamm Industries, would have no need to know any of this, since it now appears that Lamm's goals for Total-In-House-Control include keeping amp-specific info to ensure Consciousness-Free-Substitution of V2 tubes.

Is this careful stewardship or a Presunmption of Moronity; or is this what it looks like, namely an Open Attempt to keep a Revenue Stream at the expense of an ill-informed (and presumably-docile) clientele?  While the case of the V2 tube could be perceived as either of the the former options, the way L treats and describes the other tubes (especially the 6N6Ps...), along with a general dearth of information or communication concerning actual amp useage, seems to suggest the latter.

Best regards,
Paul S
