Yesterday Starts Tomorrow Morning is a novel composed as a literary symphony in fifteen movements. It follows fifteen distinct characters whose lives unfold through music, memory, technology, love, conflict, and the strange comedy of being human.
Klaus is only one of those characters, but he may be especially familiar to readers who care deeply about high-end audio. His world is inseparable from serious listening: the equipment, the recordings, the search for fidelity, and the almost impossible hope of reproducing not merely sound, but the living presence of music.
Because this part of the novel speaks so directly to the audiophile experience, I am presenting Chapters III and XV here as MP3 previews. They offer a taste of Klaus’s story and of the larger novel surrounding him.
