with all this complicated alignment machinery. At one point Romy was positively impressed with Classic Audio Reproduction T1 speaker based on ..you guessed TAD drivers and sporting TAD TH4001 horn and I'm sure it was years later than 2001 and his experiments with TAD driversSmile  I never heard good demo of any CAR speakers although I heard them many times. They were too "crispy" with Tad drivers and became too "mellow" with field coil drivers both series sporting beryllium diaphragms. I couldn't get the sound of TD4001 and I suspect that what people love about them is "liquidity" of the sound which irritates the heck of me.  Also, people who like them are not into acoustic music and they want that "liquid growl " of electric guitars. I much prefer maligned JBL titanium dia with 2440 driver. What I did like about TD-4001 is a really present and robust low mid which none of the JBL drivers possess.
